dc.description.abstractThe dignity of persons, particularly persons living on the edges of life, is seriously challenged. Part of this is the lack of intimacy they experience. The paper argues for the church's recovery through confession of the dignity of intimacy. By tracing the confessions regarding creation, redemption, sanctification and glorification in the Nicene Creed it is argued that intimacy is an integral part of every created person and as such should be recovered, confessed and celebrated. It is submitted that, because the church is in communion with the Triune God and also because she is entrusted with the proclamation of the Kingdom of God, she should initiated and promote the recovery of intimacy as a response to the challenge to the dignity of persons.en_ZA
